Characterization of a Compact High-amplitude Electromagnetic field Pulse Generator with tunable parameters

2021
A compact high-amplitude electromagnetic field pulse generator with tunable parameters, such a pulse wide, rising time, amplitude, is developed between a transmission stripline. The rising time can be tuned down to 8.2 ns, and the half pulse width up to 1730.8 ns, and the peak electromagnetic field up to 270 kV/m. By using a step motorina gas-fill vessel to move the electrodes, the discharge process can be controlled automatically by using a computer. The stability of the electromagnetic field between the impedance-matched transmission stripline then is characterized systematically in this paper.
