Juventud e inmigración. Algunos elementos para el análisis en el contexto español Youth and immigration. Some elements for its research on the spanish context

This paper explores some elements ‐which will be presented in two chapters‐ for the analysis of the “young immigrant” social category in the current Spanish context characterized by the increasing cultural diversity. The first one studies the markers (family capital; social capital; labour market segmentation) which allow to propose the adult transitions as the result of the social inequality in the Spanish society. The second one adds “nationality” to other three markers which the author considers necessary to study widely the cultural background of foreign-born young people. The “cultural repertoire”, the language and phenotypic characteristics can help identify the different social groups in the main cultural mainstream and the ethnic minorities.
