Design of a 280-340GHz Double E-Plane Orthomode Polarization Full Duplexer with High Isolation

2021
The duplexer is a key device for simultaneous signal transmission and reception, and a lot of duplexers based on frequency division principle have been proposed. However, there are some defects of duplexers based on frequency division such as interference between the transmitting and the receiving signals. Development of dual-polarization transmit and receive module offers a significant way to solve the above problems. However, limited by the processing accuracy and other issues, there are very few orthomode polarization duplexers designed for the terahertz frequency band. In this article, a novel duplexer in THz band is proposed. The structure of the duplexer proposed in this paper is very simple, easy to process in the terahertz frequency band, and has very good realizability. The simulation results of the duplexer show that the insertion loss of both two modes is less than 0.2 dBm, the return loss is better than 20 dBm, and the isolation of two orthomodes is better than 68 dBm.
