The Study of Modified Hydroxylapatite Samples Using the Fractal Theory

2021
Development of biocompatible materials and express methods for monitoring their properties is a promising line of research in chemistry, biology, and medicine. The possibility of using fractal analysis to study hydroxylapatite samples synthesized in the presence of additives (Na3C6H5O7, Na2SO4, NaCl, NaHCO3, NaF, Na2SiO3, gelatin, glucose) is demonstrated. The results of analyzing macroscopic photographs of the structure of hydroxylapatite obtained by precipitation from aqueous solutions with different concentrations of additives are presented in the form of “fractal dimension–impurity concentration–precipitate ripening time” diagrams. The regularities in the formation of target hydroxylapatite-based materials are established and their properties (composition, morphology, degree of crystallinity, nature, and impurity concentration) are estimated based on these diagrams.
