A study of optimization for rectangular ducts

Abstract A general program is obtained to optimize the single-frequency and double-frequency attenuation for rectangular lined ducts arranged in different forms and with different densities and thicknesses of the liner. The optimization method adopted in this paper offers several optimum solutions and has been verified to a certain extent by experiments. The double-frequency weighted optimization may be very useful in practice because of its ability to change the characteristic of the attenuation spectrum easily.
