Basic Newtonian Physics with Maxima

2016
Classical mechanics is the branch of physics that deals with the motion of objects subject to forces and constraints. Classical mechanics has existed as a well-defined subject since the publication of Newton’s Principia Mathematica Philosophiae Naturalis in 1687. Since Newton, a few important new concepts have been introduced into the subject (such as energy and its conservation), but most of the developments in classical mechanics since the seventeenth century have consisted of new mathematical techniques for solving classical mechanics problems.
