Urologic Syndrome, Mouse
1998
Murine urologic syndrome is an obstructive uropathy which affects male mice of various strains. The clinical signs and gross alterations are variable, since the disease occurs as either an acute or a chronic condition. Mice with the acute form are found dead with no prior signs of illness. At necropsy, the urinary bladder is markedly distended with clear, yellow urine, which is culturally negative for bacteria. White, firm proteinaceous plugs resembling vesicular gland secretions are often present in the neck of the bladder and proximal urethra.
