The invention discloses a tool for coating a heavy propeller shaft by using glass fiber reinforced plastics. The propeller shaft comprises a coated section and a bearing section, wherein the surface of the coated section is needed to be coated by the glass fiber reinforced plastics, and the surface of the bearing section is made of copper alloy. The tool comprises a bracket for supporting the bearing section and a cylindrical protective sleeve for coating the outer surface of the bearing section, wherein the protective sleeve is formed by splicing a first half sleeve and a second half sleeve, and the inner wall of the protective sleeve is provided with aluminum foil. According to the tool, the bearing section made of the copper alloy is provided with the protective sleeve, and the aluminum foil softer than copper is cushioned in the protective sleeve, so that the propeller shaft can be better protected; and a nylon roller is not needed, so that the tool can be used for coating the heavy propeller shaft by using the glass fiber reinforced plastics.
