The utility model discloses an impulse current generating device comprising a charging circuit and a discharging circuit, wherein the charging circuit and the discharging circuit are controlled by an industrial personal computer after being connected with an acquisition element; the charging circuit includes a charger, a rectifying device and a super capacitor which are connected in sequence; the discharging circuit includes the super capacitor, a thyristor, a shunt and a measured conductive connector which are connected in sequence; and the super capacitor is charged through the charging circuit, and non-oscillatory kilo-ampere impulse current is generated by using the super capacitor as a discharging current source. According to the utility model, the super capacitor is used as the discharging current source, kilo-ampere long-wave-head impulse current is generated when the super capacitor filled with charges discharges a measured circuit resistor, and parameters are adjusted to enable the impulse current to last long so that the requirement for measuring a circuit resistor of a conductive connector of a high-voltage large melting furnace can be met.
