A pureza e os vícios da linguagem biomédica

This paper is dedicated to the author's associates, residents in Pediatrics, and describes some formal aspects concerned with biomedical language. Some examples of foreign expressions, neologisms and mistaken words are given and discussion on this controversial issue is carried out. The author emphasizes the advantage for seeking information on promptuaries and dictionaries in order to elucidate incertitudes taking in account that the scientific manuscript should be in agreement with the orthographic guidelines.
