The “Going Global”Strategy of Chinese Culture by Means of Translation

China's culture is not as well-known as its economic progress as expected in that it is a phenomenon not easily recoghized by another culture. Taking Bi Feiyu's works as an example,this paper discusses respectively the translation and dissemination of their English and French versions,analyzes the present situation and the prospect of the overseas dissemination of Chinese culture and proposes the ways to accererate it. With this in mind,the present authors argue that translation plays an important part in the soft power strategy in China,and thus the"Going Global"strategy is in the meantime a translation issue as viewed from a cultural perspective.
