Virtual radiology environment for the Great Plains Medical Command

1998
The Virtual Radiology Environment (VRE) is a concept that takes advantage of multiple Picture Archiving & Communications Systems (PACS) via vast and robust networks. Integral to this concept is the development of an intelligent agent and data management software that will allow instant accessibility to multiple data streams and the streamlining of workflow throughout the entire entity. A virtual radiology environment implies a department without boundaries where there is imbedded ability to mine a variety of databases ranging from workflow, supply of physicians, patient distribution, disease patterns, equipment availability, etc. The environment will allow a free flow of information across the network.
