Association of the formation of liver vascular tumor with benzene exposure

2010
Objective To investigate the association of the formation of liver vascular tumor with benzene exposure. Methods 250 workers who had been exposed to benzene at work were selected to the study group, and 250 healthy people who had no history of benzene exposure at work were recruited to the control group. The liver was detected by ultrasonography in all the workers and the healthy people. Results The incidence of liver vascular tumor was significantly higher in the study group than in the control group (P <0.05); and it was higher in the male workers than in the female workers. Conclusions The formation of liver vascular tumor is somewhat associated with benzene exposure. Key words: Liver vascular tumor;  Benzene;  Ultrasonography
