Proton induced X-ray emission studies on Indian copper coins

Preliminary investigations on selected number of Indian copper coins were carried out using non-destructive PIXE technique. 3 MeV proton beam from a pelletron accelerator was used for irradiation of these samples The computer code GUPIX was employed to get the elemental concentrations and the obtained results are provided as well as discussed.
