Streptococcus suis(S.suis) is an important pathogen of zoonosis,that cause meningitis,septicemia,arthritis and sudden death.So far,thirty-five different serotypes(type 1/2 and 1 through 34) of S.suis have been described according to capsular polysaccharide(CPS) antigen difference,of which type 2 is the most frequently isolated serotypes from pigs with disease.Isolates belonging to other serotypes including types 1,7,and 9 have also been associated with disease in pigs.
