From the atomic nucleus to universe. A report about the tasks and the aims of research of the Max-Planck-Institut of Nuclear Physics in Heidelberg
1975
Nuclear physics and cosmochemistry are the principal fields of research of the Max-Planck-Institut of nuclear physics in Heidelberg. Regarding research in nuclear physics, the emphasis is put on the investigations into the structure of the atomic nucleus whilst cosmochemistry is concerned with aims of research comprehensible to the public in general, e.g. the coming into being and the age of meteorites, the moon, and planets. The findings of cosmochemistry contribute to a better understanding of the development of our solar system. The article deals in brief with the Institute at Heidelberg. (orig./LN)
