Some Issues of Dependencies of Loss from Technological Features of Optical Switches for Communication Systems

this paper presents some questions related to losses caused by microelectromechanical switches in optical systems. We investigate the effects of strains in the positioner on SMA stresses (memory effect on the shape of the alloy) at low and high temperatures, and analyze losses of longitudinal, lateral and angular misalignments between two fibers for different dimensions of the mode field.
