The open bite (OB) is a malocclusion that can promote aesthetic and functional disorders and psychosocial impairment. Because of the high prevalence, constitutes a public health problem. For the treatment of this malocclusion is important that the clinician has the knowledge of craniofacial growth and development to achieve early intervention system through various types of approaches, taking into account the magnitude and main etiological factor.
