Zur Kenntnis von BaZnTb2O5 und BaZnLa2O5

For the first time BaZnLa2O5 (II) and BaZnTb2O5 (I) single crystals were prepared by high-temperature reactions and investigated using X-ray techniques. I crystallizes with orthorhombic symmetry, space group D162h-Pbnm; a = 7.1216 A; b = 12.4292 A; c = 5.7562 A; Z = 4; II crystallizes with tetragonal symmetry, space group D184h − I4mcm; a = 6.9091 A; c = 11.5907 A; Z = 4. I is isotypic to BaCuLn2O5 with square pyramidal coordinated Zn2+ ions. II belongs to the BaZnLn2O5-type with tetrahedrally coordinated Zn2+ ions.
