Effect of Nitrogen and Phosphorus on Growth and Seed Yield of Cluster Bean

2016
A field experiment was conducted for consecutive three years i e 2009–10, 2010–11 and 2011–12 to study the influence of nitrogen and phosphorus on growth and seed yield of cluster bean. The yield contributing characters like number of pods per plant, number of clusters per plant and number of pods per cluster were recorded significantly maximum with the application of 60 kg nitrogen and 60 kg phosphorus per hectare. However, significantly the maximum seed yield per hectare (13.07 q) was observed with the application of 60 kg nitrogen and 60 kg phosphorus per hectare and found to be at par with the application of 40 kg nitrogen and 60 kg phosphorus per hectare (14.55 q).
