El jardín pintado: las pinturas de la Sala de los Reyes del Cuarto de los Leones

2020
the Palace of the Lions, built and decorated all at the same time, was the work of the will of Sultan Muhammad V, with a thoughtful and intentionally propagandistic structure; Its elements are linked to each other, forming a homogeneous set from an ideological point of view and communication of a mes sage: the exaltation of their lineage and the reflection on their destiny. Presiding over this Palace is the Hall of the Kings, whose reading, in a globalized sense, has not been formulated to date. The disconnected interpretation of its plastic scenes, mere illustrated anecdotes, is not enough; we must delve into the possible relationship between the image of the three vaults and with the general context of the Palace of the Lions. In this sense, this text develops a proposal for debate.
