Kinetic versus thermodynamic control of dodac vesicles formation

1990
Using quasi elastic light scattering, the destruction of N,N-dimethyl-N-octadecyl-1-octadecanaminium, chloride (DODAC) vesicle by ultrasonic waves is observed. Small stable membrane fragments are formed. Upon annealing fragments gather, and the formation of a new population of vesicles with a narrow size distribution is observed. The new average hydrodynamic radius is identical to that of the initial vesicle population
