Avaliação dos registros de condenação por cisticercose em bovinos abatidos em frigoríficos da região centro oeste do estado de São Paulo -1996 a 2000

This study analyzed the prevalence of bovine cysticercosis on 1,967,816 cattle between January .of 1996 at December of 2000, in two slaughterhouses in the middle west region of Sao Paulo's state, under federal inspection service: Slaughterhouse Vangelio Mondelli Ltda. - Bauru and Slaughterhouse Bertin Ltda. - Lins. The animaIs came from the states of Sao Paulo, Mato Grosso, Mato Grosso do Sul, Parana, Minas Gerais, Goias, Tocantins and just one lot was from Uruguay. The data were obtained by the monthly nosographic maps and daily reports, where there were records about the origin of the animal lots, total number of bovine cysticercosis cases, observing their larval stage (living 01' calcified) and destiny of carcasses. The found results had been of 2.11 % and 5.28% for alive and calcified forms, respectively. Front to the sum of the results (7.39%), is concluded that cysticercosis continues present, corroborating with registers of origin of the deriving animals of region considered endemic for bovine cysticercosis.
