2011
The purpose of this study is to explore pre-service information technology teachers' perception of self-efficacy in web-technological pedagogical content knowledge (Web- TPCK). As data collection tool, a six-point Likert scale "TPCK-W Survey" was used. This inventory consisted of 30 Likert items and 5 sub-scales. TPCK-W Survey was administered to 177 teacher candidates form departments of Computer Education and Instructional Technology in Faculty of Education, and Electronics and Computer Education in Faculty of Technical Education. In addition to descriptive statistical analyses, independent samples t-test and ANOVA were used in this study. Results of statistical analyses showed that most teacher candidates had high level of self-efficacy in Web-TPCK. It was found that there was no significant difference in teacher candidates' self-efficacy in Web-TPCK with respect to their gender, except for the sub-scale of Web- communication. Results also indicated that grade level was a significant indicator for teacher candidates' self-efficacy in Web-TPCK. Moreover, there was a significant difference in teacher candidates' self-efficacy in subscales of Web-content and attitudes toward Web-based instruction in terms of the types of education faculties.
