Determination of Two Tannin Compounds in Rheum Tanguticum Maxim.ex Balf.

2010
OBJECTIVE To determine the contents of gallic acid and catechin in Rheum tanguticum Maxim.ex Balf..METHODS HPLC was established on Kromasil C18 column with gradient elution. The mobile phase was methol-0.1% phosphoric acid, and the flow rate was 1.0 mL·min?1.The detection wavelength was 280 nm,and the column temperature was room temperature and the quantification used external standard method.RESULTS The average recovery of gallic acid was 98.6%,and the RSD was 1.28%.The average recovery of catechin was 98.8%,and the RSD was 1.37%.CONCLUSION The method is quick, simple and accurate, and it can be used for the determination of tannins in Rheum tanguticum Maxim.ex Balf..
