Microstructure, dielectric properties and energy storage performance of Ba0.4Sr0.6TiO3 ceramics prepared by hydrothermal method and microwave sintering

2017
Abstract Ba 0.4 Sr 0.6 TiO 3 ceramics were prepared by hydrothermal method and microwave sintering at relatively low temperature (1190 °C) for various sintering time. All samples were well crystallized with a pure perovskite structure without any secondary phases. When sintering for 1 min, ceramics showed the smallest average grain size, and then increased with further sintering process. The smaller grain size of samples sintering for 1 min improved its dielectric properties including good frequency stability and low dielectric loss, furthermore, it showed good energy storage properties too. The variation of the sintering duration was thought to play an important role on the controlling of microstructure and dielectric property of BST ceramics.
