X-ray and electric investigations of the systems Y(Mn1−xBx)O3 (B = Fe3+, Cr3+, Al3+)

Structural and electrical investigations were made of ceramic samples of the systems Y(Mn1−xBx)O3 where B = Fe3+, Cr3+, Al3+. Limits of the formation of solid solutions having the structure of hexagonal yttrium manganite (ferroelectrics) and rhombic YBO3 (nonferroelectrics) are estimated. The Curie temperatures of the ferroelectric samples were determined by X-ray methods. An assumption is made according to which the macro-symmetry of the crystals (symmetry of the lattice) is formed by the micro-symmetry (symmetry of electron density) consisting of the lattice of atoms (ions) and the symmetry due to the packing of the coordination polyhedrons.
