[Experience with a new preparation, Sevatest HCG-latex].

In 1983 the Prague Institute of Serums and Vaccines developed a new preparation for early diagnosis of pregnancy. This study using 147 women compared the preparation Sevatest HCG-latex with Prepurex which was developed in Great Britian. The results with the Czechoslovakian and British preparations were identical in 117 positive and 28 negative diagnoses of the early stages of pregnancy. Sevatest HCG-latex was stable and almost as sensitive as Prepurex and Gestagnost. The diagnostic test using the new Czechoslovakian preparation is fast reliable and reproducible indicating that Sevatest HCG-latex could be substituted for the imported preparations currently being used.
