Stator cooling for superconducting lathes

Herein a device for cooling a stator of a superconducting rotary machine is disclosed. The apparatus comprises a stator coil. Holding means are arranged in the axial direction on the stator to support the stator and a clearance is formed between the holding means to expose the stator part. A Statorjochkern is such arranged on the holding means, that the gap between the exposed portion of the stator coils, the holding means and the stator yoke is limited. In the space defined by the exposed portion of the stator coil, the holding means and the stator gap, a cooling pipe is disposed, which simultaneously cools the stator coil and the stator yoke.
