Traditional Japanese dietary culture is influenced by China deeply, but it still keeps some of its own unique custom and characteristic. This article discussed about some traditional Japanese foods, such as bonito dried fish, miso soup, red rice, pickled plum, sushi, natto and so on, and explored why traditional Japanese dietary culture can be preserved, perpetuated and developed in Japan which is called the melting pot of the world's dietary culture. Through these discussions we hoped that we would better understand Japanese culture in every aspect .
