A process for the preparation of substituted polymethacrylimides of poly-alkyl methacrylamide-co-alkyl methacrylates using cyclodextrins

2001
The invention relates to a method for producing substituted polymethacrylimides by the intramolecular reaction of polymers, said polymers being produced from water-insoluble and optionally water-soluble monomers by the radical polymerisation of monomers in water, which acts as the diluent, whereby the water-insoluble or slightly water-soluble monomers are polymerised in the form of complexes of a) cyclodextrins and compounds containing cyclodextrin structures. The substituted polymethacrylimides are synthesised by a thermal treatment of the copolymers.
