Features of microarc oxidation of titanium with current restriction in breakdown channels

2010
Some features of the formation of oxide films on titanium in the microarc oxidation (MAO) mode with controlled energy flows in the breakdown channels are studied versus the conventional MAO technique. It is shown that the introduction of an external controlled reactance in the anode circuit makes it possible to decrease the total power consumption for MAO by 150–350% with the preservation of high functional properties of microarc coatings formed at various potentials.
