REVERSE TURNING AND ANGLE SENSE IN TENEBRIO MOLITOR L.
2013
SUMMARY Larvae and adults of Tenebrio molitor L. (Insecta, Coleoptera) when forced to pass through corridors with different forced turning angles performed reverse turns at the corridors' exits. The magnitudes of the reverse turning angles can be described as a near-linear function of the different forced turns. Deviations of 15° were distinguished significantly from a straight ahead path («angle sense»). Differences in the performances of larvae and beetles were not observed.
