Stress Professionnel chez les Travailleurs en Pharmacie à Douala

Introduction. Le stress professionnel est un risque psychosocial emergent en milieu de travail. Il resulte de l'interaction entre l’homme et l’environnement professionnel. Le secteur professionnel de la sante est decrit dans la litterature moderne comme un secteur a risque eleve de stress. En l’absence de donnees pertinentes, nous avons realise une etude transversale sur le stress professionnel chez les personnels de pharmacies privees de la ville de Douala. Methodologie. L’etude etait transversale descriptive. Elle s’est deroulee du 15 janvier au 15 avril 2015 dans les pharmacies privees de Douala. L’echantillonnage etait aleatoire a ete effectue en deux temps. Le questionnaire recapitulait les variables sociodemographiques, les conditions de travail et les variables psychometriques de la version francaise du questionnaire du stress de Karasek. L’analyse du questionnaire effectuee sur logiciel SPSS 21.0 a permis d’etudier la demande psychologique, la latitude decisionnelle et le soutien social des enquetes. L’etude a obtenu une clairance ethique delivree par le comite d’ethique institutionnel de l’Universite de Douala. Resultats. Le taux de participation etait egal a 76,76%. L’echantillon etait constitue de 113 femmes et 29 hommes. Les principaux facteurs de risque etaient la forte demande psychologique (23,7±0,33), la faible latitude decisionnelle (54,66±0,71) et le faible soutien social (30,67±0,35). La prevalence du stress etait egale a 71,80%. Les femmes, les celibataires, les parents de 1-2 enfants, percevant un salaire mensuel de 50-100.000 FCFA etaient numeriquement plus stresses, mais aucun resultat n’etait significatif. Conclusion. La prevalence du stress etait elevee chez les personnels des pharmacies privees de Douala et expose les enquetes au burn out ou l’insatisfaction au travail. Introduction. Occupational stress is an emerging risk resulting of the various interactions between the worker and the working environment. Several researches have been carried out around the world during the past decades. According to literature, the risk of occupational stress is higher in health sector. We’ve carried out a cross sectional study to evaluate this emerging risk amongst pharmacy workers in Douala. Methods. This descriptive cross-sectional study was performed using a mixed, pretested, questionnaire with which volunteers’ participants were interviewed. The study was carried out in Douala based community pharmacies from January 15th, 2016 till April 15th, 2016. Participants were selected randomly and included in the sample. The questionnaire consisted of questions on socio-demographic characteristics, working conditions and job content questionnaire of Karasek. The Job content questionnaire of Karasek was analyzed through its three dimensions (psychological demand, decisional latitude, social support). Data were analyzed with SPSS 21.0 software. Results. The response rate was 76.7%. The study sample was made up of 113 females and 29 males. We’ve identified three main risk factors among which the high psychological demand (23.7±0.3), the low decisional latitude (54.6±0.7) and the low social support (30.6±0.3). The prevalence of occupational stress was 71.8%. Women, singles, parents of one to two children, and those perceiving a monthly salary between fifty and one hundred thousands were the most affected. No significant association was found between stress and various groups of participants. Conclusion. We found a high stress prevalence amongst community pharmacy personnel’s’ in Douala. Preventive actions should be taken to anticipate escalation to further consequences such as burn out or job dissatisfaction.
