Influence of Physical Symptoms on the Mental Health of Female Recruits

Objective To investigate the influence of physical symptoms to the mental health and further promote the psychosomatic health level of female recruits.Methods A total of 199 female recruits were tested by Cornell Medical Index(CMI) at the enroll and 3 months after intensive training respectively.The results were compared and analysed.Group interview was performed.Results The factor scores in CMI except the items of recycle system,skin,nerve system and the past medical history were all higher at 3 months after enroll compared with those right at enroll.The results were as follows: eye and ear(t=3.96),breathe system(t=14.58),digest system(t=20.52),musculoskeletal system(t=30.31),genitourinary system(t=14.22),level of fatigue(t=40.66),disease frequency(t=29.71) and living habit(t=24.11) in the part of A-L;inadaptation(t=34.59),depression(t=33.60),anxiety(t=26.22),nervouseness(t=18.56),anger(t=18.46),tension(t=20.28) in the part of M-R,P0.01.There were 7 items with high scores(20%) 3 months after training,which were sleep difficulty or sleep is not deep,easy to wake up(33.16%),sore throat,tonsillar enlargement(27.04%),frequent dysmenorrheal(26.53%),sick stomach(23.46%) and legs and feet ache(21.93%).Conclusion The psychosomatic health level of the female recruits reaches is lower at 3 months after training than at enroll.Physical symptoms influence the mental health.
