A photographic two-equivalent magenta coupler represented by the following general formula (I): (I) wherein (A) represents a residue of a magenta color image-forming coupler in which one of the hydrogen atoms in the coupling position is eliminated; Q represents an oxygen atom or NH group; and B represents the non-metallic atoms necessary to form a 5-membered or a 6-membered ring containing the nitrogen atom and the group. Color photographic light-sensitive materials containing the two-equivalent magenta coupler are also described.
