An optically pumped polarized ion source for LAMPF

The status of the three operational optically pumped polarized H/sup -/ sources is reviewed. The optically pumped polarized H/sup -/ source development program at LAMPF is discussed. Aspects of this type of source requiring further research and development are discussed.
