Effect of colostrum oral immunotherapy combined with breastfeeding on body weight growth of hospitalized preterm infants

2020
Objective To analyze the effect of colostrum oral immunotherapy combined with breastfeeding on body weight growth in preterm infants. Methods A total of 76 premature babies born in our hospital between January, 2018 and October, 2019 were selected as the research objects. They were divided into a control group and an observation group according to the random digital table method, with 38 cases in each group. The control group were given formula feeding, and the observation group were given breastfeeding and colostrum oral immunotherapy. The feeding status, growth and development status, and incidence of adverse events in the two groups were comopared. Results The enteral nutrition time, parenteral nutrition time, and time for milk volume up to 120 ml/(kg·d) in the observation group were (5.27±0.89) h, (16.91±3.15) d, and (15.65±2.29) d, respectively, which were significantly shorter than those in the control group [(7.14±1.03) h, (23.06±3.43) d, and (22.56±2.79) d; t=8.47, 8.14, and 11.80, all P 0.05). The incidence of adverse events was 10.53% in the observational group, and was 31.58% in the control group (χ2=5.07, P<0.05). Conclusion The effect of colostrum oral immunotherapy combined with breastfeeding on premature infants is significant. It can effectively improve the feeding and growth of premature infants, and reduce the occurrence of adverse events, so it is worthy of clinical promotion and application.
