Influencing Factors in Establishment of Death Education Training for Nurses

Objective To analyze the demand of death education training for nurses in Shanghai and its influencing factors,so as to determine the main contents of death education training.Methods A questionnaire survey was conducted on 617 registered nurses with one or more years of nursing performance selected by convenience sampling from 4 tertiary hospitals and 3 secondary hospitals.Results The scores of nurse's demand on 8 dimensions of death education training were ≥3.51,in which the scares of death dying care and suicide-related issues were 4.00.Multiple linear regression showed that the demand level of nurses was correlated with nurse's education backgroup,experience of dealth education training and hospital level.Conclusion Nurses have a higher demand on death education.Nursing educators should take full account of the demand of nurses,develop the scientific and reasonable training content and enhance the training efforts and coverage.
