Ozonation of Water for Salmonid Fish Rearing Facilities Pilot Plant Results

Abstract An ozone pilot plant which supplied the makeup water to an existing clarifier-biofilter recycle system was installed at a fish hatchery raising cutthroat and steelhead fry. Analysis of daily bacterial plate counts indicated that ozone consistently provided better sterilization of the makeup water than an existing ultraviolet system.
