A Survey of Current Robot Metrology Methods

Summary In response to industrial needs, performance measures for robots are being developed in laboratories around the world. Although as yet no universally accepted tests for robots have been adopted, researchers have developed or are developing procedures and instrumentation for examining repeatability, kinematics, dynamics, and positioning accuracy of industrial robots. In this paper we will present a brief overview of the current state-of-the-art in this field and suggest research topics suitable for international collaboration.
