Specific features of the process of sedimentation in cement-water dispersions in the presence of superplasticizers

The gamma method was applied to investigate the specific features of sedimentation of cement-water dispersions both with or without superplasticizers. Substantial differences were detected in the density distribution over the height of the dispersion. In particular, for hydrating dispersions, the layer-by-layer pattern of density distribution in the presence of surfactants and relatively smooth density variation over the height in the dispersion with no additives were confirmed.
