Current satus of infection control in hospital laundry in Beijing

OBJECTIVE To investigate the status of the disinfection of the hospital laundry in Beijing,so as to provicle basis for strengtheuirg the management of caundry.METHODS According to the hospital infection control criteria and laundry management standards entitled in the disinfection technology standard,the unified standards and questionnaires were adopted to investigated the current status of the disinfection of the hospital laundry in Beijing.RESULTS Through the investigation of the infection control in 89 hospitals,it was seriously insufficient in both the quality and quantity in the staffing.The laundries of the three A hospital were superior to the two A hospitals in such indexes as the building facilities and number of targets.Incomplete disinfecion and isolation system and the lack of professional skill training existed in some of the hospitals.The difference in the washing quantity between the laundries of various levels of hospitals was statistically significant.CONCLUSION It is urgent to formulate the relevant standards and regulations as well as strengthen the supervision of the laundry.
