1ª CONSEG – conferência nacional de segurança pública: uma experiência democrática

This article comes from the experiences acquired while participating in the 1st National Conference of Public Security. Its purpose is to relate the Brazilian reality in terms of criminal pursuit and the cycle of police, as well demonstrate the necessity of a national debate seeking the improvement of this scenery. Also, it relates the dynamic methodology applied in the Conference and its results. Lastly, the article demonstrates that the public security, as a constitutional norm, it’s a responsibility of all and must, for this reason, be treated in a democratic way.
