Press detection device

[Problem] To provide a press detection device capable of detecting pressing operations from the outside of an external facing member without providing a hole or the like in the external facing member. [Solution] In a press detection device 10, a counter member 15 overlaps an electrode member 11 with a thin spacer 13 therebetween, and a fixed electrode 12x and a counter electrode face each other in a sensing region 14. The counter member 15 is bonded to the rear surface of an operation panel section 1a with an adhesive layer 16 therebetween, said operation panel section being a part of the external facing member 1. The external facing member 1 is, for instance, a mirror. When a part of the mirror is pressed, the mirror warps, the counter member 15 warps with the mirror, the distance between the fixed electrode 12x and the counter electrode decreases, and a pressing operation is inputted when the decrease is detected.
