Optimized low-loss integrated photonics silicon-nitride Y-branch splitter

2020
Losses are the main detrimental factor that limit the scale of quantum photonic information processing circuits at which they can implement quantum algorithms effectively. We have designed a compact and low-loss Y-branch integrated photonic element for silicon-nitride waveguide. By finite difference time-domain (FDTD) numerical simulation, we have obtained the optimized geometry of the element with loss level of < 0.1 dB at 808 nm wavelength.
