Effects of different time for urethral catheterization on the elderly patients with urethral mucosa, bladder irritation syndrome and hemodynamic

2017
Objectives To investigate the effect of different time for urethral catheterization on the elderly patients with urethral mucosa, bladder irritation syndrome and hemodynamic. Methods From April 2013 to April 2014, 90 cases of elderly patients with elective surgery in our hospital were selected as study subjects, they were randomly divided into group Ⅰ (routine catheterization), group Ⅱ (before anaesthesia after 15 min catheterization) and group Ⅲ(catheterization after anesthesia), each group of 30 cases. Before catheterization, urethral catheterization (T1, T2) and after catheterization (T3) diastolic blood pressure (DBP), systolic blood pressure (SBP), heart rate (HR) changes, postoperative (Ta), postoperative 1 h (Tb), 2 h (Tc), 6 h (Td) bladder irritation sign, positive rate of hematuria after operation were compared between the three groups. Results The HR, SBP and DBP in groupⅠwere significantly higher than the group Ⅱ and group Ⅲ in T2 , T3 moments (P 0.05). The positive rates of hematuria in group Ⅰand group Ⅲ were 50% and 80%, were significantly higher than 10% in the group Ⅱ(P<0.05). The positive rate of hematuria in group III was significantly higher than the group I (P<0.05). The incidence rates of Ta, Tb and Tc were 43.44%, 50% and 43.33%, and were significantly higher than those in group I and group II (P<0.05). Conclusions After 15 minutes before administration of anesthesia, catheterization is conducive to the maintenance of stable hemodynamics in the elderly patients with surgical catheterization process, reduces the occurrence of bladder irritation and the urethral catheterization of urethral mucosa of patients with injury, it is worthy of attention.
