Importancia del fortalecimiento de las competencias docentes en profesores de quinto grado de Educación General Básica

Teacher training plays a key role in improving the performance of the teaching-learning process, which allows the integration of the learner in the process of acquiring knowledge in a more participatory and dynamic way. For this, teachers must have certain minimum competencies that allow them to better perform their work in today's society. Not all professionals working in the education sector in rural areas of Ecuador have a teaching background, but have other professions, therefore, the educational and didactic component is limited. The main objective of this article is to describe the teaching competencies that should be strengthened in fifth grade teachers of General Basic Education in rural schools. The theoretical and empirical methods used allowed the researchers to delve into aspects related to this level of teaching and the main deficiencies that teachers possess.
