Fast Eddy-Current Testing Model Using $\mathcal{H}$ Matrix and ACA Algorithm

This paper presents a method combining the adaptive cross approximation (ACA) algorithm and hierarchical ( $\mathcal{H}$ ) matrix method, which further accelerates the BEM model for solving the eddy current testing problems. $\mathcal{H}$ matrix method provides a new framework in the process, ACA algorithm makes use of its pure mathematical properties to solve the problem faster and more convenient compared with BEM. Requirement of the storage and the CPU time in each iteration, the proposed method is analyzed in details by taking the eddy current testing case as an example. We show the efficiency of the proposed fast eddy current testing model using the $\mathcal{H}$ matrix method and the ACA algorithm.
