Effects of "Fufang Qizhu Decoction" on Spleen-deficiency Syndrome and CD4 T Lymphocytes of AIDS Patients

Objective: To observe the effects of "Fufang Qizhu Decoction" on spleen-deficiency syndrome and CD4 T lymphocytes of patients with acquired immune deficiency syndrome(AIDS).Methods: Forty-three cases of AIDS with spleen-deficiency syndrome were randomly divided into treatment group(n=21) and control group(n=22).The treatment group was treated by "Fufang Qizhu Decoction" combined with highly active antiretroviral therapy(HAART) and the control group was treated by HAART only.After treatment of 6 months,the clinical effects and the level of CD4 T lymphocytes were observed.Results: The clinical effective rates of treatment group and control group were 90.0% and 60.0% respectively and there was a statistical difference between the two groups(P0.05).The levels of CD4 T lymphocytes of both two groups after treatment were higher than those before treatment(P0.05)and the level of CD4 T lymphocytes in treatment group was higher than those in control group after treatment(P0.05).Conclusion: "Fufang Qizhu Decoction" can improve the spleen-deficiency syndrome of AIDS patients and enhance the level of cellular immunity.
